Nutrition should always be individualized, based on constitution and tailored to each person's metabolism. Therefore, every nutritional consultation begins with a detailed medical history and individual constitution assessment (VATA, PITTA, KAPHA).
In Ayurveda, humans are considered a microcosmic reflection of our universe, composed of the five elements of nature: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. Combinations of these five elements within the human body give rise to different levels of vital energy, the so-called three Doshas - VATA, PITTA, KAPHA - which are determined in each person from birth. They define their individual constitution and constitute their uniqueness, with all their strengths and weaknesses, preferences and aversions. According to Ayurveda, our health is maintained through the balance of these three Doshas. VATA, the principle of movement, arises from the elements ether (space) and air. VATA represents activity and drive, is responsible for growth, and is closely connected to the nervous system. PITTA, the principle of transformation, arises from fire and a touch of water. PITTA ensures the balance between heat production and energy expenditure and is responsible for our metabolism. KAPHA, the stabilizing principle, is composed of water and earth and gives the body structure and firmness. If these doshas become imbalanced due to poor diet and lifestyle, disharmony arises in the body, which can lead to illness. |
